Giles’ varied career has spanned management experience in public, private and charity sectors. After returning to the UK in 1991 from Spain, where he had set up and run a language school business, his entrepreneurial flair continued with the establishment of an import/export agency. He then spent a year as Corporate Fundraiser for SCOPE, followed by 4 years at Bournemouth Poole College of FE, establishing the first registered charity in the sector, then managing the international office. In 1997, he joined an £8m privately-owned plastic injection moulding business as Sales Manager and was promoted to Managing Director after 15 months. Over the next 5 years, with a combination of strategic vision, planning and people management skills, he successfully led the company back into profitability. It was ultimately this experience of leadership, and understanding the vital role that developing a deep understanding of oneself and others plays in leading effectively, that motivated Giles to set up The Colour Works in 2003. Now boasting a team of 12 qualified facilitators and coaches around the UK, The Colour Works has developed a reputation for delivering inspirational training programmes that deliver tangible results.
