In 2001, following the ‘bubble bursting in ecommerce’ the Founders of Ecademy watched as their community evolved into a social network for general business and they saw the beginnings of a strong community that remains highly regarded in the market for its ethics, values and the way they celebrate community within a world that yearns for friendship and shared purpose.
Penny and Thomas are Practitioners in the market; they speak from the authority of creating a successful social network that serves half a million small and medium businesses in over 200 countries. Without VC Investment and limited Bank co-operation this provides great empathy to the challenges and opportunities for the small and medium business community, providing the credibility for their voice to be heard and respected. Critical to the success of Ecademy has been their knowledge of driving traffic to Ecademy from a wealth of social media sites, they understand the way businesses should create and nurture ‘purpose led communities’ rather than ‘transactional models’ to build trust with their followers.
